HD HYUNDAI ECO VINA: EXPANDING INTO THE GLOBAL MARKET

HD Hyundai Eco Vina has just finalized a contract with SP-SSA International Port (SSIT) in Vietnam to supply two RMQC rail-mounted shore cranes.

The RMQC shore cranes manufactured by HD Hyundai Eco Vina have now been put into operation at PSA Mumbai.

This contract demonstrates HD Hyundai Eco Vina's superior technical capabilities and project execution skills, and serves as an important foundation for future expansion into new markets and increased international orders.

This is HD Hyundai Eco Vina's first order after the acquisition of the entire Doosan Vina factory in the Dung Quat Economic Zone, Quang Ngai province, by the
South Korean HD Hyundai Group from its owner, Doosan Enerbility, marking the beginning of its expansion into the global market for port equipment based on manufacturing in Vietnam.

SSIT is a deep-water port located in Phuoc Loc neighborhood, Tan Phuoc ward,
Ho Chi Minh City, a joint venture between SSA Marine (headquartered in Seattle, USA) and two Vietnamese partners: Saigon Port and Vietnam Maritime Corporation.

Under the contract, HD Hyundai Eco Vina is responsible for the entire process of designing, manufacturing, transporting, installing, commissioning, and transferring the technology for two high-capacity RMQC rail-mounted shore cranes for the SSIT deep-water port.

The global port crane market is maintaining its growth momentum thanks to increasing maritime cargo traffic, expanding port infrastructure, and the trend towards using large container ships. Simultaneously, the demand for high-performance equipment and automation is also increasing to improve port operational efficiency.

Against this backdrop, HD Hyundai Group has strengthened its global business foundation through the combination of HD Hyundai Samho – a unit possessing international competitiveness in the port crane sector – and HD Hyundai Eco Vina. HD Hyundai Eco Vina is being positioned as a strategic production center to expand its port crane market share in the Asian region.

To date, HD Hyundai Eco Vina has supplied over 150 port cranes, while HD Hyundai Samho has completed over 250 projects globally. This accumulated experience and capability create a significant competitive advantage in securing large-scale projects.

HD Hyundai Eco Vina is a foreign direct investment (FDI) enterprise located in the Dung Quat Economic Zone, Quang Ngai province.

Furthermore, through collaborative projects with leading global port operating corporations, such as PSA Mumbai, HD Hyundai Eco Vina has built a solid foundation of technical expertise and enhanced its competitiveness in product quality to meet international standards. This is a crucial foundation for expanding into new markets and increasing orders in the future.

A representative from HD Hyundai Eco Vina affirmed: “This order is a significant milestone, demonstrating that major port operators in Vietnam and around the world have recognized our technological capabilities and implementation experience. In the future, the company will continue to leverage the strengths and advantages of the HD Hyundai Group to expand its market share in the global port equipment market.”.

Based on the contract to supply two RMQC rail-mounted shore cranes to SSIT Vietnam deep-water port, HD Hyundai Eco Vina continues to expand its business opportunities in key markets, including Southeast Asia. Simultaneously, it strengthens its customer service capabilities by leveraging its manufacturing facilities in Vietnam to ensure stable supply and project implementation capacity.

This order marks a new phase of growth for HD Hyundai Group's port equipment segment, while also solidifying the company's competitive advantage in upcoming global project bids.
