Ba Ria – Vung Tau, June 2025 – SSIT has just reached a new milestone in the terminal’s development journey by achieving the highest vessel volume in May 2025, handling nearly 100,000 TEUs – the highest monthly volume since the commencement of container operations since 2018.
This remarkable milestone demonstrates SSIT’s operational strength and effective management amid rising cargo transport demand, cooperating with the collective dedication and effort of the terminal’s staff. SSIT’s volume increased by 45% compared to the same period last year for vessel volume – a clear indicator of robust growth momentum and the increasing appeal of the Cai Mep region within the regional and global logistics network.
Breakthrough Factors
This impressive performance was made possible by SSIT’s consistent application of innovative strategies, including the optimization of berth productivity, streamlined operational processes, and proactive commercial efforts to attract new services. The frequent service calls from major international carriers such as MSC and ZIM, with direct services to the U.S., Europe, and Intra-Asia, have been instrumental in contributing to this remarkable throughput growth.
Commitment to Sustainable Development
Beyond operational efficiency, SSIT remains deeply committed to corporate social responsibility through various initiatives supporting education, environmental protection, and community welfare in the local area.
“We greatly appreciate the trust and continued support displayed by our valued customers, in particular, the management team and all staff of MSC for cooperation in allocating container services with large vessels to SSIT for cargo handling. This accomplishment not only contributes significantly to Vietnam’s import and export performance but also inspires us to continuously improve, striving to become one of Vietnam’s most advanced and efficient deep-sea terminals. Besides, SSIT sincerely thanks the Ministry of Construction, Vietnam Maritime Administration and Waterway Administration, Vung Tau Port Authority, People’s Committee of Ba Ria – Vung Tau Province, and all relevant government agencies for consistently supporting the development and operation of the terminal.”, shared by Mr. Phan Hoang Vu, SSIT’s General Director.
